Hartford — The organizers of the “2013 Connecticut Veterans Parade” are looking for U.S. veterans, businesses, organizations and individuals who want to be a part of the 14th annual procession at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, near the Capitol Building.
The parade will take place one week before the federal observance of Veterans Day. Last year more than 3,500 people marched or rode in the parade.
Connecticut 6th, 7th and 8th grade students can enter the parade’s student essay contest by answering the question “Why Do We Honor Veterans?” The top winner will ride in the parade. Entries must be submitted by Oct. 4. Rules and the entry form can be found at www.ctveteransparade.org.
To register to march, volunteer, or learn how to become a parade sponsor, visit www.ctveteransparade.org or call 860-986-7254.
