Norwich - With a vote Monday to dismiss the city's most recent ethics complaint, the Ethics Commission officially is "down to the bare minimum" of members, said Chairman Joseph Sastre.
The commission is supposed to have five regular members and four alternates. But Monday was the last meeting for member Wayne Rosenfield, who is moving out of Norwich. And member Robert Davidson has missed recent meetings due to illness.
All four alternate positions are vacant, leaving Sastre, Vice Chairman Ira Misenheimer and Tamara Lanier as available members if a new complaint is submitted.
Ethics Commission members cannot serve on other city boards, narrowing the pool of potential volunteers. Members are appointed by the City Council. Applications for interested residents can be found on the city's website, www.norwichct.org or at Mayor Deberey Hinchey's office at City Hall, 100 Broadway. For information, contact the mayor's office at (860) 823-3742.
