    Issue well reported

Congratulations to The Day for another important article, "Changes would strengthen protections for state park sites," (Jan. 14), by crack environmental reporter Judy Benson. She was on target with her analysis of the report by the Council on Environmental Quality on the vulnerability of state forests, parks, wildlife areas, prime agricultural lands, and other state conservation lands to takeover and/or changes of use.

These lands not only serve for the enjoyment and health of the public, they by and large protect clean and healthy state waters. Our quality of life and economic future depend in large part on moving forward with ample, healthy clean water.
