Shoreline Gymnastics of Old Saybrook competed in the Team Challenge at WCSU in Danbury from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1. The Team Challenge was an invitational meet that included gymnasts from around the Northeast, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Levels 3, 4, 7, 8 and 9 were represented. The Level 3 team included Eva Alquist (Madison), Sydney Goulding (Old Lyme), Abigail Maynard (Waterford), Emily Smith (Clinton), Natalie Tanner (Madison) and Mia Thomas (Madison). Strong individual performances for Level 3 on vault included Maynard (second); Tanner (second) and Alquist (tied for third); bars Maynard (third); beam Maynard (first); and all around Maynard (tied for first).

The Level 4 team included Megan Cravinho (Old Lyme), Danielle Dewallace (Waterford), Madeline Fraser (East Lyme), Helena Gernhardt (Old Saybrook), Meghan Kapij (Old Saybrook), Amanda Rowe (Waterford), Madeline SanMarco (Madison) and Katie Shaughnessy (Mystic). Strong individual performances for Level 4 on vault included Rowe (first); Cravinho (tied for first); and Gernhardt (third); and bars SanMarco (first) and Shaughnessy (second).

The Level 7 team included Elizabeth Cravinho (Old Lyme), Lindsey Jones (Groton), Erin Naclerio (Madison), Kate Ryan (East Haddam) and Haley Smith (Clinton). Strong individual performances for Level 7 on vault included Jones (second) and Cravinho (third); bars Cravinho (third); and floor Cravinho (tied for third).

The Level 8 team included Katie Seegert (Old Saybrook) and Morgan Staehle (Oakdale). Strong individual performances for Level 7 on beam included Seegert (first).

The Level 9 team was represented by Samantha Lemire (Moodus) and Abby McGuirk (Madison). Strong individual performances for Level 9 on vault included McGuirk (third); bars Lemire (first); beam Lemire (first); floor Lemire (tied for second) and McGuirk (tied for second); and all around Lemire (first).
