UPDATED: Transmission line issue knocks out power to Montville neighborhood

Montville - Work on a Connecticut Light & Power transmission power line left 148 homes in the vicinity of Kitemaug Road without power Wednesday night.

A CL&P spokeswoman said that line workers de-energized the power lines off Kitemaug Road at about 5 p.m. to accommodate work on the nearby transmission line. CL&P estimated work would be completed by 9 p.m., but power was still out at 10:30 p.m. A portion of Kitemaug Road was temporarily closed to accommodate the CL&P crews.

Ledyard officials reported a similar issue earlier in the day, though power has since been restored there.
