I had the pleasure of witnessing history being made outside on the steps of The Satti Building in New London last month.
A number of us stood there in the pouring rain, and some also attended a similar event in East Lyme that night as well, to listen to Bill Satti outline his platform for the upcoming election.
When fourth generation New Londoner, Bill Satti, announced his intention to seek the Democratic nomination for the 20th District Senate seat (currently held by Andrea Stillman), Democratic leaders from East Lyme, Waterford, Montville, Bozrah and, yes, New London, were there - in the rain - to hear about Bill's strategy for keeping the seat for the Democrats and his platform for representing our district in Hartford.
Education, job creation and retention, regional coordination across services, and fairness and inclusion in government are key components of Bill's message.
Retaining the 20th District state Senate seat as a Democratic one can best honor Stillman's legacy. I would encourage my fellow delegates to vote for the person they know will win in November.
That person, as far as I'm concerned, is Bill Satti.
