East Lyme - The town will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. today at Town Hall to vote on several appropriations.
Residents will vote on appropriating and bonding $900,000 to repair town roads; $100,000 to improve Peretz Park at Bridebrook; $230,000 to install a new roof at the Board of Education's central office; $115,000 for districtwide network upgrades; and $715,000 to repair and improve the tennis court facility, according to the agenda.
Another item up for a vote is appropriating $304,060 over five years to the school board for new computers and Smart Boards as part of the district's computer replacement plan, as well as for a 1-ton dump truck. In addition, residents will vote on appropriating $300,079 over five years for town vehicles and equipment, as part of the town's acquisition program.
They will also vote on allocating a total of $283,200 for projects in the town's capital plan and $183,247 from the capital non-recurring fund for a school security grant program.
