    Foley sells outs

I am a registered Republican. I read with much angst that Republican candidate for governor, Tom Foley, missed a great opportunity to distinguish himself from Gov. Dannel P. Malloy's staunch support of Connecticut's unions. I give Malloy credit for standing up for what he believes. I disagree with his position, but I respect his honesty.

I guess Tom Foley wants to be governor so much that he is willing to sell his soul to achieve that goal. I agree with Chris Powell's commentary - "State labor unions face win-win election," (June 18) - that Foley has "risked the contempt of people hoping for a choice in the election for governor." He has certainly turned me off and probably changed my vote in the August primary.
