Former Lyme-Old Lyme teacher is new Wheeler associate principal

North Stonington – Ryan Chaney, a former Lyme-Old Lyme Public Schools teacher, is the new associate principal of Wheeler High School/Middle School and began the job on July 1.

Chaney is filling the spot vacated by Kristen St. Germain, who was appointed principal of Wheeler in April and assumed those duties this month.

After graduating from the University of Connecticut and Sacred Heart University, Chaney taught elementary and middle school in Lyme-Old Lyme for seven years, St. Germain said. He is a summer school facilitator and will oversee summer school in North Stonington.

In his previous position, Chaney helped pilot programs align with Common Core State Standards in mathematics, St. Germain said.

Chaney grew up in Montville and currently lives in New London with his fiancée.
