William and Anna Orkney of Ledyard are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Sarah, to Jon Zielinski, son of Victor and Susan Zielinski of Norwich.

The wedding ceremony took place on July 11, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of North Stonington. The service was performed by Pastor David Thomas.

Given by her father, William Orkney, the bride was attended by Amanda Orkney, maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Jessica Herndon, Kathryn Ryen, Samantha Boardman, Courtney Johnson, Paige Quandt and Brittney Conant. The wedding reception took place at Lake of Isles Golf Course in North Stonington and continued at High Rollers Luxury Lanes at Foxwoods Resort Casino later that night. On the groom's side, was Piotr Zielinski, best man, and groomsmen Andrew Manzi, Brian McGivern, Ryan Franco, James Kudelchuk and Matthew Royer. The two flower girls were Noelle Johnson and Leah McGivern. A reading was done by Marianne Bowes, cousin of the bride.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Ledyard High School. She received a bachelor's degree from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2009 and a master's degree from Sacred Heart University in 2011. She is currently a social studies teacher at East Lyme Middle School. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. He received a bachelor's degree from Keene State University in 2003 and a master's degree from Sacred Heart University in 2011. He is currently a history teacher at Plainfield High School, where the couple met.

Sarah and Jon traveled to cities in Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Germany during their five week honeymoon this summer. Their trip began on the island of Sao Miguel in the Azores, Portugal, and ending in Paris, France.

They live in Voluntown, with their two dogs, Lando and Aiden.
