Author, humorist to speak to breast cancer survivors

Eileen Kaplan, author of "Laughter is the Breast Medicine," will be the featured speaker at a reception for breast cancer survivors on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the L+M Cancer Center from 7 to 8 p.m.

Self-described as a humorist, motivational speaker, health advocate, mentor and bilateral breast cancer "thriver," Kaplan will focus her presentation on her life as a breast cancer survivor, prevention of the disease and how to deal with the issues associated with cancer and its aftermath. Kaplan is known for speaking with "humor, heart and knowledge on making the lifestyle changes necessary for dealing with adversity in one's life."
