    NBA roundup

Kelly Olynyk of the Celtics, left, and Anderson Varejao of the Cavaliers chase after a loose ball during the first quarter of Friday night's game at Boston. The Cavaliers won 122-121.

    Cavaliers 122, Celtics 121

LeBron James scored a season-high 41 points, and Cleveland rallied from a 19-point deficit to beat Boston on Friday night.

James made one of two free throws with 36 seconds left to give Cleveland that one-point lead. The Celtics then lost the ball out of bounds, but Kyrie Irving missed a layup and Avery Bradley rebounded for Boston, which called timeout with 7 seconds to go.

But the Celtics couldn't get a shot off as Rajon Rondo, who finished with 16 assists, lost control of his dribble near the top of the key just before the final buzzer sounded.

Irving had 27 points and Kevin Love added 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who earned their third straight win.

Kelly Olynyk led Boston with a season-high 21 points, and Jared Sullinger and Jeff Green had 19 apiece.

Boston grabbed a 103-84 lead on Tyler Zeller's layup early in the fourth quarter.

Then Irving took charge, scoring 13 of Cleveland's next 15 points and cutting the margin to 107-99 with 8:40 left.

James led the Cavaliers in the last six minutes of the quarter with 10 points. His three-point play put them ahead 120-118 with 1:11 remaining before Love added a free throw.

Boston then tied the game at 121 on one free throw by Sullinger and two by Green.

Coming into the day, Cleveland had allowed the sixth-highest average points in the NBA, while Boston gave up the fourth most.

The first half ended with the score tied at 59. Neither team led by more than three points in the last eight minutes.

The Celtics made 16 of 22 shots in the third. They went on a 12-point run, with James on the bench for the last 10 of them, to take a 96-80 lead with 57 seconds left.

    Jazz 102, Knicks 100

Trey Burke made a jumper from the corner as time expired, giving Utah a thrilling victory over New York, which got an NBA season-high 46 points from Carmelo Anthony.

Anthony's 3-pointer with 2.3 seconds left tied it at 100 and put the Knicks in triple digits for the first time this season. But Burke caught the ball near the Jazz bench, faded back and nailed the jumper before stepping back over the sideline into hugs from his teammates.

The Knicks lost their seventh straight game.

Gordon Hayward scored a season-high 33 points for the Jazz, and Derrick Favors added 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Pablo Prigioni scored 13 points for the Knicks, who lost Iman Shumpert to a bruised right hip in the opening minute of the game, landing him on an injured list that already includes Jose Calderon and Andrea Bargnani.

But they almost won anyway because of a brilliant performance from Anthony, who had 17 points in the final period. He could only smile in disbelief at the end, knowing Burke's shot was good even before the replay review was concluded.

Burke finished with 13 points for the Jazz, who stopped a six-game skid against the Knicks.

Utah was outscored 9-1 to open the fourth and fell behind 81-76, before a three-point play by Hayward started an 11-0 burst by the Jazz that Favors capped with a dunk for an 87-81 advantage. But Anthony kept muscling his way to the basket or drawing fouls to keep the Knicks close enough until his deep jumper over Favors knotted it up.

Shumpert was hurt when Jazz center Enes Kanter banged into him on a drive to the basket. With Amare Stoudemire sitting out to rest, it left the NBA's No. 29 team in points per game without its Nos. 2 and 3 scorers. Shumpert was averaging 13.8 points and Stoudemire 10.9.
