    Statewide housing permits for October

    According to the CT Department of Economic and Community Development, 433 housing units were given the OK in Connecticut in October. That’s down about 16 percent from the 517 units approved during the same month last year.

    Housing permits for local towns:

    New London, 32; Colchester, 28; Norwich, 24; Old Saybrook, 20; Stonington, 16; Groton, 14; Stonington, 12, and Montville, 11. Old Lyme and Griswold are among the towns that don’t report monthly numbers.
