My sincere hope is that after the holiday season of wrapping presents, spending time with family and friends, and ringing in the New Year, that people will take a moment to reflect upon their accomplishments of the past year and look ahead to the challenges awaiting this coming year.

I urge readers to never lose sight of the sacrifices made by the few to help ensure a secure way of life for the many. For more than a decade, members of our Armed Forces have been deployed over the holiday season, missing countless festive celebrations with their own families and friends in order to ensure our protection.

So, as employers face this new year I urge them to honor the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform by committing to hiring them in 2015 and beyond.

At ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve), we urge every employer to commit to hiring well-trained and educated members of the Guard and Reserves along with our veterans. We ask that employers help us say thank you to these men and women and give them the peace and satisfaction that they have selflessly given to us time and time again.
