I read with interest the article titled "Diocese sues state over lobbying law," published May 30.
As one citizen of the Constitution State, I am shocked at the diocese's action, which could affect all citizens of Connecticut, presumably in accordance with "the diocese's" beliefs. Indeed, publications, such as "Voter's Guide for Serious Catholics" from the group Catholic Answers Action, apparently distributed in many Catholic churches, may have affected recent national elections.
All institutions, religious or otherwise, should be required to register as lobbyists if they want political influence.
