Area players fill all-star football game rosters

Team Nutmeg will have a distinctly southeastern Connecticut flavor when it plays Team Constitution in the Connecticut High School Coaches' Association Super 100 All-Star Game.

The game features the state’s top senior players and will be played on June 27 at Rentschler Field (4:30 p.m.)

There are four New London players on Team Nutmeg — Bryan Cespedes (offensive lineman), Jelani Lucas (receiver), Danny Maranda (quarterback) and Troy Gray (defensive back). Also on the team are Leo Clinton (inside linebacker) and JoJo Shumaker (running back) of Ledyard, Justin Cheverier (outside linebacker) and Chris Jean-Pierre (defensive back) from CIAC Class S-Large champion Valley Regional/Old Lyme and offensive linemen Marc D’Elia (NFA) and Andrew Kenniston (Waterford). The team will be coached by New London’s Duane Maranda.

Team Constitution features Ledyard’s Phyllip Thomas (receiver) and Rashan Young (inside linebacker) and Stephen Agnatovech (offensive lineman) and Khaleed Exum-Strong (running back) of Norwich Free Academy. Fairfield Warde’s Duncan Dellavope is the head coach.
