Ollie plans on staying at UConn

Kevin Ollie is no longer on the short list of candidates to fill the Oklahoma City coaching vacancy. He removed his name from consideration, according to CBSSports.com.

The news came a day after the UConn coach issued a statement saying that he has "no plans to pursue other opportunities."

Apparently Ollie's statement wasn't enough to discourage Oklahoma City, where he played his final NBA season, from considering him as one of the leading candidates to replace fired head coach Scott Brooks. Florida's Billy Donovan also is a prime target to lead the Thunder.

Ollie just completed his third season at UConn, leading the Huskies to a 20-15 overall record. UConn reached the American Athletic Conference tournament championship game and earned a berth in NIT. The Huskies lost in the first round to Arizona State.
