    H.S. baseball roundup: New London downs Stonington 5-2

    Stonington — Aidan Brennan hit a two-run triple in the second inning Wednesday as the New London High School baseball team beat Stonington 5-2 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Medium Division game.

    Juan Otanez hit a two-run double in the first inning and Quantique White pitched the win for the Whalers (5-5, 2-2). Also, Gabe Cortorreal and Freddy Pacheco doubled.

    Ben Dellacono and Kevin Ferrer each had two hits for Stonington (6-4, 1-3).

    In other games:

    • Buddy Dewaine pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts as Montville blanked Plainfield 4-0 in the ECC Medium. Ben Rochester had a triple and an RBI and Tom McDonald and Jeremy Sagun each had an RBI for the Indians (8-2, 4-0), ranked seventh in the New Haven Register Top 10. Also, TT Bowens had two hits and Dewaine had a sacrifice fly.

    • Cam Milton drove in two runs as Norwich Free Academy beat St. Bernard 6-1. Dan MacLean earned his first win of the season and Brandon Russo and Brandon Drabinski doubled for NFA (8-1). St. Bernard is 3-7.

    • Ross Golebiewski had four hits and five RBI as Old Lyme doubled up Coginchaug 14-7 in the Shoreline Conference. Matt Przybysz, Brett Hartmann and Hunter Sheffield each had two hits and three runs for the Wildcats (7-4). Coginchaug is 5-5.

    • Connor Lewis had three hits, including a double and triple, with two runs and an RBI and pitched the win as Waterford beat Killingly 10-1 in the ECC Medium. Alex Petchark hit a two-run triple for the Lancers (8-1, 3-1) and Michael Burrows, Justin Keating, and Will Sherman each had two hits. Trey Belanger had two hits and an RBI for Killingly.

    • Trevor Bolduc allowed one hit over six innings to earn the win as Ledyard beat Lyman Memorial 9-2. Bolduc struck out six with three walks. Nick Smith had three hits and scored twice and Andrew Byrd (three runs), Michael Larmann (three RBI) and Ty Ebdon had two hits each for Ledyard (6-3).

    • Providence Country Day beat St. Thomas More 12-0. Hiro Senuma singled for T-More.
