Gateway Commons ready for occupancy

The first residents of the Gateway Commons project in East Lyme started moving in Friday.

The Simon Konover Co. of West Hartford, which is developing the project with KGI Properties of Providence, said The Sound Luxury Apartments have officially opened and the first four buildings are complete. The completed part of the project, a joint venture under the name Gateway Development/East Lyme LLC, involves 112 luxury units.

"Construction continues on the remaining six buildings and clubhouse," Simon Konover said in a release.

In all, 280 apartments will be constructed, along with a fitness center, pool, media room and other amenities.
