Avery Point's World Series opener rained out

Enid, Okla. — UConn-Avery Point's opening game in the NJCAA Division II World Series was postponed by rain on Saturday.
The game, originally scheduled for a 4 p.m. start on Saturday, is scheduled to begin on Sunday at noon. The Pointers will play Madison College (Wisc.).
One game in the double-elimination tournament was played. Western Oklahoma routed Catawba Valley (N.C.) 15-5. The second game between Frederick (Md.) and Lincoln Land (Ill.) was suspended by rain after three innings with Frederick leading 7-0. The game will resume Sunday at 10 a.m.
