Montville — Josh Handler, a senior midfielder last fall for the Montville High School boys’ soccer team, was selected to the 2015 NSCAA High School Boys’ Scholar All-America Team. Selection is based on exemplary performance on the field as well as in the classroom.

Handler was selected to the NSCAA All-New England team last season, as well as earning recognition as a Class M all-state, All-ECC and Connecticut CSCA Senior Bowl selection. He was a member of The Day’s All-Area team and earned the NSCAA Senior Excellence Award, as well as receiving the Connecticut Valerio Moretti Scholar-Athlete Award and the CAS-CIAC Scholar-Athlete Award.

Handler recently graduated from Montville with a 4.25 grade point average. He will be attending Brandeis University in the fall, where he will major in business and continue his soccer career.

Official recognition of the Scholar All-America award will take place at the NSCAA High School Awards Brunch on Aug. 1 at the Lake Buena Vista Palace Hotel in Orlando, Fla. The event is being held in conjunction with the NSCAA Summer Soccer Symposium.
