    • Coast Guard Academy Director of Athletics Tim Fitzpatrick announced Tuesday that four Athletics division senior staff members have been assigned new professional titles.

Associate Athletic Director Dr. Dan Rose assumed the title of Senior Associate Athletic Director. Dr. Rose, who will continue to serve as the Director of Health and Physical Education at CGA, is entering his 20th year at the academy. Formerly CGA's Head Track & Field Coach, Rose was named Associate Athletic Director in 2012. He serves as the primary sports administrator for the Athletics division's 22 intercollegiate teams, is its administrative liaison to the CGA Alumni Association and is a member of the Dean's Council.

Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Chris Parsons becomes Associate Athletic Director for Compliance and Admissions Support. Parsons, who is in his 14th year at CGA, has served as men's soccer coach since 2002. Last fall, he led the Bears to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 33 years. In addition to his important role overseeing the Athletic division's NCAA Rules Compliance program, he is the liaison to CGA's Admissions division and plays a key role in the recruitment of prospective cadet-athletes.
