    New London permit parking registration to begin Tuesday

    New London – The city and New London Parking Authority on Tuesday will provide details about a new program to address on-street parking concerns in neighborhoods surrounding Fort Trumbull.

    The Registered Permit Parking Program will allow for open parking for residents and visitors in designated areas. Tuesday’s meeting will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Public Library of New London.

    Residents who live in in one of two designated zones will be able to register their vehicles. The Shaw Street Zone consists of neighborhoods circled by Steward Street, Montauk Avenue, Willetts Avenue, Maple Avenue and Shaw Street. The Pequot Avenue North Zone consists of neighborhoods circled by Converse Place, Montauk Avenue, Plant Street and Pequot Avenue.

    Registration is free. Anyone who wishes to register should bring a current driver’s license, vehicle registration and one of the following: mortgage/deed/lease, phone/cable bill, water/sewer bill, notarized letter from landlord, tax bill, utility bill, bank account statement, credit card bill or insurance bill.
