Four year-old drowns in Gales Ferry pool

Ledyard — A 4-year-old boy died after drowning in a residential pool Saturday evening.
Ledyard police and emergency personnel responded at about 8 p.m. Saturday to a Gales Ferry house, where a caller said that the boy had been pulled from the in-ground pool and that someone had started CPR.
Emergency responders took the child to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later, according to a news release from Ledyard police.
Ledyard police are investigating the boy's death.
