    Police: Oakdale man had heroin packaged for sale in apartment

    Montville — An investigation into the sale of heroin in Montville led to the seizure of drugs and shotgun shells at an apartment and the arrest of a local man.

    Jeff Cuff, 25, of 10 Carolina Drive, Unit 20, Oakdale, was arrested by the Montville police on Friday, according to a news release.

    Upon searching Cuff's residence, police said they found large amount of heroin packaged for individual sale, Xanax pills, marijuana, Suboxone strips as well as shotgun shells, cellphones and drug paraphernalia, which were seized.

    Cuff was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 of a school, failure to keep narcotics in original container, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of ammunition.

    He posted a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwich Superior Court on Dec. 19.
