The Day’s Op-ed “Pruitt’s dirty EPA plans” (March 22) faults Scott Pruitt, our new EPA administrator, for not believing that carbon dioxide causes global warming. How sad that these journalists are so ignorant. Actually the reverse is true, warming causes increased carbon dioxide.

Observe your cold soda glass placed on a warm surface, watch the dissolved carbon dioxide bubble out into the air. Similarly, warm the ocean (submarine volcanism) and watch the carbon dioxide levels rise in air. Five hundred million years ago the carbon dioxide levels were 20 times greater. Humans didn’t exist yet.

In David Collins’ column he claims “Fewer lobsters in the time of Trump,” (March 22). Last year’s hurricane was blamed on President Trump. Fouled rivers are blamed on him. He’s blamed for the last polar bear death. The beaten media screams from their despicable grave wild phenomenological charges against our commander-in-chief, President Trump. They manage to endow and empower him with supernatural powers to move the Earth and to strike frightening fear into his defeated adversaries. As it is written, good will now prevail over the Earth’s evils.
