I was pleased to read The Day’s editorial, “Push bills critical to region toward approval,” (May 11), supporting legislation to protect Connecticut casino jobs and revenue. I wholeheartedly agree that this legislation is critical for our region. It’s great news that SB 957 advanced in the General Assembly with a strong vote in the Appropriations Committee.
As the budget process worsens, now more than ever, it is critical to support the casino operations in southeastern Connecticut and the thousands of jobs that are risk.
With over 700 hundred employees in his district alone, state Rep. Chris Soto, D-New London, should make this legislation a priority. We need his leadership on this one!
