Flock’s ‘Long Day’s Journey Into Night’ postponed

Flock Theatre’s production of Eugene O’Neill’s semi-biographical play, “Long Day’s Journey Into Night,” originally slated for August, has been postponed indefinitely. A recently announced Broadway revival of the play, featuring Jessica Lange, has restricted the rights to all productions surrounding New York, New England, Los Angeles and Chicago until the middle of 2016.

The play takes place over the course of a day in 1912 at the Connecticut summer home of a family strained by addiction and illness. The setting and characters are based on O’Neill’s own life and family, and the playwright requested that the work only be produced after his death due to its personal subject matter.

Flock hopes to take up the production again next year once the rights become available.
