"Walking Dead's" Emily Kinney sings at Mohegan Sun

    Emily Kinney

"Walking Dead" devotees know Emily Kinney as little Beth Greene - the now dearly departed, non-zombie Beth Greene - but the actress has a second career going as a singer.

Her singing is nothing new - she starred on Broadway in the musical "Spring Awakening" - but she's taken it to, as they say, a new level.

She's produced two EPs, 2011's "Blue Toothbrush" and 2013's "Expired Love." She's scheduled to release another recording later this year. And, yes, she writes songs as well as sings them.

Kinney performs in concert tonight at the Mohegan Sun Wolf Den and then does a signing event at The Shops at Mohegan Sun right afterward. (Rules for the signing include: a limited number of bracelets will be handed out starting at 6:30 p.m. at both The Shops concourse and at the Wolf Den entrance; you need a bracelet to get into the signing line; Kinney will only sign the headshots given out at the event and one personal item per person.)

Think she'll sing Tom Waits' "Hold On" and the Scottish tune "The Parting Glass," as she did on episodes of "The Walking Dead"? Fans can dream, can't they?

    - KRISTINA DORSEY

Emily Kinney, in concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, Mohegan Sun Wolf Den; signing at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at The Shops at Mohegan Sun; free; mohegansun.com.
