    Auto briefs: Autonomous EVs, gardening, feline maintenance tips

    A fleet of electric autonomous vehicles, support for a non-profit organization's garden, an "Ultimate Parent" contest, and vehicle maintenance tips from a savvy social media cat were among the items promoted by automakers recently.

    [naviga:li]General Motors announced that 130 Chevrolet Bolt models with the automaker's latest self-driving technology have been completed. The vehicles were produced at GM's Orion Assembly Plant in Orion Township, Mich., and will be used to test autonomous driving equipment such as cameras, sensors, and LIDAR. GM, which has been testing self-driving Bolts since June 2016, says it is the first automaker to build autonomous test vehicles at a mass production facility.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Subaru recently supported Lambs Farms, a nonprofit organization in Libertyville, Ill., dedicated to helping people with developmental disabilities lead enriching lives. The automaker funded a sustainable garden for the organization as part of its Subaru Loves to Care initiative. Volunteers from Subaru as well as the University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners worked to build the garden beds and train Lambs Farm participants on maintaining them.[/naviga:li]

    [naviga:li]Chrysler, in a collaboration with Amazon Family and celebrity personal trainer Jillian Michaels, has debuted a contest called the Ultimate Family Sweepstakes. The grand prize winner will receive a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan as well as a $1,000 Amazon gift card and a personalized family training session with Michaels.     [naviga:li]Honda is teaming up with Pompous Albert, a grumpy-looking cat with more than 132,000 followers on Instagram, to remind drivers of the importance of regular vehicle maintenance. The automaker says it sought to find "the biggest skeptic on the Internet" for the campaign. A 36-second video featuring the cat will be shared on Honda's social media pages through June.[/naviga:li]
