'Bossypants' worth going back for if you missed it
"Bossypants"
Tina Fey
Somehow, I missed the “Bossypants” boat.
This book came out in 2011, and I don’t know, maybe I was too busy reading “War and Peace” to notice that comic sorceress Tina Fey had published this series of personal recollections. (No, I never actually read “War and Peace,” but it sounds impressive.)
I’m catching up on Fey’s breezy book now, and, if you’re in need of a great beach read, this is it. Whether about her childhood, her imposing father, her “30 Rock” and “SNL” experiences, or her cruise-ship honeymoon, Fey’s tales are witty and engaging, and her sense of self-deprecation — and her sense of the absurd — are both sharply attuned.
