Groton-New London Airport open for tours Aug. 19

Groton-New London Airport will be open for a free self-guided tour from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. during Groton's Summer in the City celebration on Wednesday, Aug. 19, which also corresponds to National Aviation Day.

Visitors will get to check out aircraft cockpits, displays by the Connecticut Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol and Survival System USA's Underwater Egress Training Center, among other venues.

Visitors can get a map at the main airport terminal. The airport's Beacon Restaurant will have a special Aviation Day menu.
