PowerOptions consortium moves into state
PowerOptions, the largest energy buying consortium in Massachusetts serving nonprofit organizations and governmental entities, has received regulatory approval to expand into Connecticut.
The state ruling allows the nonprofit to help organizations cut energy purchase costs.
“We are pleased and heartened by this ruling, which appropriately retains PowerOptions’ unique status as a nonprofit aggregator focused entirely on negotiating the best price, terms and conditions for its members,” said PowerOptions CEO Cynthia Arcate in a statement.
PowerOptions, which also is expanding into Rhode Island, currently serves more than 500 entities with electricity, natural gas, and solar power sales totaling about $200 million. For information, visit www.poweroptions.org.
