The new Octane Bar and Café at 9 Tilley St. in New London officially will open with a ribbon cutting from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday during the New London Food Stroll.

The ribbon cutting is being sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut. Officials will say a few words before cutting the ribbon to mark the cafe's opening.

There is no cost to attend and no need to RSVP. New London Food Stroll buttons, at $30 each, may be purchased from New London Main Street by going online to www.newlondonmainstreet.org. Tickets also can be bought at 165 State St.
