Mohegan — While the collectibles at last month's Barrett-Jackson car auction at Mohegan Sun might have been beyond your reach, you can still get behind the wheel of a Ferrari next month when the casino hosts Exotic Driving Events on four weekend days.

The events are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 13, 14, 27 and 28.

Exotic Driving Events, based at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park in Thompson, Conn., travels to more than 15 cities across the country, billing itself as "the leader in exotic car driving experiences."

The company, previously dubbed "Circuit One," made a stop at Mohegan Sun last year, too.

Exotic Driving Events prides itself on its ever-changing fleet of high-performance "supercars." Currently, the selection includes a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Lamborghini Performante LP 570, a Nissan GT-R and a Mercedes SLS AMG.

Thrill-seekers can sign up to maneuver one of the cars over a professionally designed autocross course. A professional driver provides coaching.

"While speeds on the course are no higher than those of legal highway driving, the combination of concentration, reaction, talent and the car's capabilities are a recipe for an adrenaline-pumping experience," Exotic Driving Events says.

According to the company's website, prices range from $275 for three laps of the course to $475 for seven laps. Extra laps are $25 apiece.
