The Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority has named Robert Rubenstein senior vice president and general counsel, making him responsible for all facets of the authority’s legal department.

MTGA operates Mohegan Sun in Uncasville and Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., among other ventures.

Rubenstein, who has extensive international experience, spent nine years with Las Vegas Sands Corp., most recently as senior vice president and general counsel of Sands China Limited where he was responsible for managing legal and compliance matters for the Hong Kong Stock Exchange-listed company.

He also served as senior vice president and global deputy general counsel for Las Vegas Sands, where he was a member of the executive team responsible for developments in Singapore, Macau and the United States.

The authority has been authorized to develop a resort on Yeongjongdo Island in Incheon, South Korea.
