Mashantucket Pequot Museum hosts a 17th century military/civilan reenactment Friday and Saturday

You're going to get a chance to absorb a whole century's slice of New England history — all within a two-day period.

On Friday and Saturday at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center's farmstead, the facility will host living history demonstrations recreating a 17th-century military and civilian encampment — including reenacting key moments from both the Pequot War and King Philip's War.

Performers will portray European and Native soldiers, warriors and citizens, and the event includes musket-firing and bow and arrow-shooting demonstrations, campfire cooking, wampum and pottery making, militia drills, tool- and flint-crafting workshops, and lectures.
