Mystic Seaport hosts Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous this weekend.
You may have noticed that Tiger Woods has had a bit of a fall from grace, which explains how I was able to buy his yacht for pennies on the dollar. It's a pretty great vessel, and I was going to let everyone see it as part of the Antique & Classic Boat Rendezvous taking place Saturday and Sunday at Mystic Seaport.
But the Seaport won't let me be part of the festivities!
"The stripper poles probably aren't appropriate for our family-friendly event," sayeth the Seaport.
Well, no worries because the Antique and Classic Boat Rendezvous is still a great destination. Over 50 time-honored cruisers, sailboats and runabouts — all shiny and in pristine condition — will be on display, and there's a competition recognizing excellence in restoration, authenticity and workmanship.
And, at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, the classic vessels all take part in a three-mile parade down Mystic River. Each will be announced as it passes under the iconic drawbridge en route to Fishers Island Sound.
