In his brand new memoir, "Conversations with a Masked Man: My Father, the CIA and Me," John Hadden explores long-festering issues and unanswered questions wrought of his dad's decades-long service in the spy biz. The father/son dynamic is poignantly, emotionally and sometimes hilariously explored through conversations ranging from abstract art to the Cold War and Vietnam.

Hadden the Younger has also written a spare, two-person, one-act play based on the book, and the work will be presented Friday in Stonington's La Grua Center. As an encore, two pre-designated local citizens and three volunteer members of the audience will talk about their own family issues and the personal ramifications of politics.
