The idea of leisurely discussing novels over a fine meal, with the author on-site, is pretty great — although it's probably best not to try it with "Carnage: the Butcher Shop Homicides" or "Cannibals I Have Known."

It's a much better idea, for example, with Mystic novelist Susan Kietzman. She'll discuss and sign her newest book, "Every Other Wednesday," as guest of honor in the latest "Delicious Discussion" event taking place at noon today in the Michael Jordan Steak House at Mohegan Sun. Not only is Kietzman a charming person and conversationalist, but "Every Other Wednesday" is centered on the titular lunch meetings between three friends whose lives are changed by a tragic event.
