Bestselling author Delia Owens' latest certainly has a lot going on and plenty of glorious press. Called "Where the Crawdads Sing," the novel fuses a dark murder mystery with romance, gorgeous nature writing, and an ode to the South — as though Henry David Thoreau had been born in South Carolina, dated Barbara Kingsolver, and the two decided to write a crime story. The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly are just a few of the diverse publications that love "Where the Crawdads Sing." Owens will discuss and sign copies of the book at 6:30 p.m. Monday in Bank Square Books, 53 West Main St., Mystic. It's free; (860) 536-3795.
