An early harvest of art

It's always good to start a fresh year with a demonstration of energy and creativity. A fine example of that would be the fifth annual "Winter Exhibit" at the Maple and Main Gallery in Chester. Featuring all new works by 37 painters and sculptors, the show opens Wednesday and celebrates with a gala reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Wine, chocolates and appetizers are part of the fun, as is a wine tasting by Chester's Package Store from 6 to 7 p.m. "Winter Exhibit" runs through March 22.
