Brendan Case announced Wednesday his resignation as St. Bernard School's athletic director, effective Dec. 31, in order to pursue other employment.
"I'm looking forward to the next chapter," Case said when reached by phone Wednesday night.
"In order to avoid undue disruption to the school's athletic department, Mr. Case and I determined that the timing of his resignation should coincide with the holiday break," St. Bernard headmaster Donald Macrino wrote in a release.
An interim AD will be appointed until a full-time replacement is found, Macrino said, and he will form a search community to fill the vacancy.
Case has been the Saints' athletic director since Aug. 2011.
