    H.S. roundup: Pinto, Sefransky lead Fitch girls' lacrosse past Bacon

    Colchester — Mae Sefransky scored eight goals and Michelina Pinto added five goals and three assists as the Fitch High School girls' lacrosse team finished the regular season with an 18-12 win over Bacon Academy in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division.

    Maggie Adams had nine saves for the Falcons (8-8), which won seven of their last 11 games and qualified for the CIAC Class M tournament.

    Molly Kelly scored four times for the Bobcats.

    In other games:

    • Sydney Cowell and Maggie Berger both had three goals and an assist as Old Lyme downed North Branford, 14-4, in the Shoreline Conference. Catie Quaratella and Sloane Sweitzer each had two goals and an assist for the Wildcats (15-1, 9-1) and Abby Berger, Anna Mesham, Julia Strycharz and Lauren Quaratella all scored.

    Softball

    • Megan Lanier hit a three-run double to highlight a six-run second inning as East Lyme routed Waterford, 12-1. Mikaela LoPriore pitched a three-hitter and hit a two-run double for the Vikings (14-5) and Haley Birch added a two-run double. Claire Hurley doubled for the Lancers (13-7).

    • Freshman Kendra Perez allowed just one hit and struck out four for her first varsity win in the first game of Wheeler’s 15-0 and 13-0 doubleheader win over Ellis Tech. Both games were called after three innings due to the mercy rule. Emma Stock went 3-for-4, including a double, with three RBI and two runs and Katie Gaccione went 2-for-3 with two runs for the Lions (17-2). Sam Muller allowed just one with seven strikeouts, Nikki Collins went 3-for-3, including a double, with three RBI and two runs, and Micaela Bergel went 2-for-3, including a double, with four RBI and a run in the second game.

    • Margaret Reagan had a triple, two home runs, seven RBI and three runs as St. Bernard trounced Ellis Tech, 16-1 in five innings, and qualified for the CIAC Class S tournament. Olivia Novak went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run while Sophie Nelson had two hits, including a triple, with three runs for the Saints (8-11). Also, Courtney Rose had two hits, a run and an RBI, Emily De La Cruz had two hits and two runs, and Briana Beverly had two hits, including a double, with an RBI.

    Boys' golf

    • Wheeler's Michael Anderson carded a 38 at Fenwich Golf Course in Old Saybrook as the Lions finished with a stroke total of 181 to edge Old Saybrook in a nonleague match. Old Saybrook earned a split by defeating St. Bernard 184-236. The Lions (7-8) and Saints (4-14) did not compete against each other. Jake Umphlett and Tyler Primett each shot 46 for Wheeler while James Kenefick shot a 57 to lead St. Bernard.
