    Local high school roundup

    Waterbury - The Williams School boys' and girls' cross country teams participated in the CISAC Championships on Saturday. The boys' team won the event for the seventh straight year and 12th time overall. Lisle Schaeffer was the overall winner (17:14) and Aaron Davis finished second (17:45). Lee Cattanach finished fourth (17:57) and Will McKenzie finished sixth (18:06).

    The girls' team finsihed third with 47 points. Ana Schavoir finished second (21:30) and Kelly Kong finished fifth (22:18).

    In other meets:

    • Bridget Murphy finished seventh overall and Westerly finished second at the Class B state meet at Ponaganset High School. Murphy finished in 21 minutes, 1 second. Rachel Orlando was 10th in 21:11, followed by Ryann Murphy (18th, 21:56), Adeline Hanssen (19th, 22:03), Jane Mueller (23rd, 22:28), Allison Stefanski (32nd, 23:45) and Jill Levcowich (38th, 24:25).

    H.S. football

    • Anthony Facchini of Norwich Free Academy rushed for three touchdowns in a 21-18 loss to Woodstock in an ECC Large Division game. Tecumseh Champlain went 6 for 10 for 41 yards for NFA (2-5, 0-3).

    H.S. girls' soccer

    • Brittney Humphreys scored twice for Ledyard in a 3-0 win over East Lyme in ECC Large play. Jillian McCarthy also scored for Ledyard (7-6-1, 2-5-1). Rachel Skelton made seven saves for East Lyme (5-9-2, 1-7-2).

    • Emily Hamilton scored four goals as Williams School beat Hyde-Woodstock 8-0. Capri DeBiccari had three assists for the Blues (10-2).

    H.S. boys' soccer

    • T.J. White made four saves for Stonington in a 1-0 loss to Windham in ECC Medium play. Stonington is 8-7, 5-4).

    • Alex Lin scored for The Williams School in a 1-1 tie with Hyde of New Haven. Noah Spiegleman made eight saves in goal for Williams (1-9-3). Hyde is 6-4-2.

    H.S. field hockey

    • Maggie Carter scored twice for the Williams School in an 8-3 loss to The King School. Gia Eapen also scored for Williams.
