    H.S. boys' basketball: East Lyme qualifies for Class L tournament with win over Woodstock

    East Lyme — Dev Ostrowski had 18 points and Kosta Lanis 15 points Tuesday as the East Lyme High School boys' basketball team beat Woodstock Academy 52-48 in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division on Tuesday night and qualified for the CIAC Class L state tournament.

    Cristian Brown added 13 points for East Lyme (8-5, 1-4), which finished last season 1-19. Nick Short scored 17 for the Woodstock.

    In other games:

    • D. Major Roman had 14 points and 10 rebounds as New London topped Killingly 62-42 to remain unbeaten in the ECC Medium and qualify for the Class L state tournament. Tyrell Martinez scored 12 and Elijah Martinez 10 for New London (8-6, 6-0), which continues to lead the division heading into Friday's game against second-place Waterford.

    • Mikey Buscetto had 19 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four assists as Waterford used a dominant fourth quarter to beat Stonington 64-49 in the ECC Medium. Waterford outscored the Bears 24-8 in the fourth quarter. Jeff Evans had 16 points and 20 rebounds for Waterford (11-3, 5-1) and Landon Peabody had 12 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals. Also, Kevin Johnson scored 11. Matt Schmeelk had 15 points, Amadi White had 14 points and Bobby Atkins 13 points for Stonington (6-7, 3-3).

    • Sam Vogt scored 18 points and John Vogt added 13 in St. Bernard's 61-42 win over Wheeler in the ECC Small Division. Graham Fagerquist had 10 points for the Saints (7-6, 4-1). Mike Dellaporta scored 16 points for Wheeler (5-7, 1-4).

    • Norwich Free Academy rolled to a 17-point halftime lead on the way to a 58-47 win over Fitch in the ECC Large. Aidan Miller had 16 points and Luis Rivera added 11 for the Wildcats (8-6, 3-2). Eddie Volkerts scored all of his 11 points from the foul line and Ryan Reuling added 10 for Fitch (8-5, 3-2).

    • Cody Calash scored 11 points in Montville's 47-42 loss to Plainfield in the ECC Medium. The Indians fell to 3-10, 0-6. Liam Jacobs had 17 points for Plainfield, which outscored Montville 17-10 in the fourth quarter.
