East Lyme will defend ECC Large Division titles in boys' and girls' indoor track

Norwich Free Academy's Connor Gralton is the top seed in three events for Saturday's Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division indoor track championship at the Coast Guard Academy. The Large Division meet is scheduled for 4 p.m., following the Small Division competition at 10 a.m., also at Coast Guard.

    Gralton is ranked first in the boys' 1,000 (2 minutes, 37.16 seconds), 1,600 (4:27.52) and 3,200 (9:51.06).

Fitch's Justin Marceau is the No. 1 seed in the 55-meter dash and the 300, while on the girls' side, East Lyme's Haley Ashton is the top-ranked athlete in the 55 hurdles and the 300, while Ledyard's Megan Brawner is ranked first in the 1,000 and the 3,200.

East Lyme's boys and girls swept both Large Division titles last year and will compete once again for that honor, facing Bacon Academy, Fitch, Ledyard, NFA and Woodstock Academy.

Griswold was the Small Divsion champion for the girls last season and Windham for the boys. Also competing in the Small Division are Killingly, Lyman Memorial, Montville, New London, Plainfield, St. Bernard, Stonington, Tourtellotte, Waterford and Wheeler.
