    H.S. tennis roundup: Third doubles comes through for Old Lyme girls in 4-3 victory

    Old Lyme — Maria Donato and Callie Kotzan beat Alyssa van Eyndhoven and Laura Hinsch 5-7, 6-4, 7-5 at No. 3 doubles, as the Old Lyme High School girls' tennis team edged Coginchaug 4-3 Monday to win its Shoreline Conference match.

    Keelin Hurtt won in straight sets at No. 1 singles for Old Lyme and Emily Brault (No. 2) and Brynn McGlinchey (No. 4) each won singles matches in three sets.

    In other matches:

    • Gabby Dellacono, Charlotte Johnstone, Mackenzie Sadler and Margot Goodman all won at singles for unbeaten Stonington in its 7-0 win over Woodstock Academy in the Eastern Connecticut Conference Large Division. The Bears (7-0, 6-0) also received wins from the doubles teams of Claire Morehouse and Phoebe Townsend, Brielle Fratoni-Jaskiewicz and Hannah Middleton and Holly Foster and Cassie Onorato.

    • Killingly beat New London 6-1 in an ECC Small match. Sandrine Eteinne beat Haley Larose at No. 3 singles 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 for New London (4-4, 4-2).

    • Fitch took three out of four singles matches, with Laura Krick, Jillian Leger and Jessica Cote earning victories in a 4-3 win over East Lyme in the ECC Large. The Falcons are 5-2, 3-2. Lisa Gao won at No. 2 singles for the Vikings (3-5, 1-5).

    • Sarah Verity and Sophie Impellitieri had singles wins in Waterford's 5-2 victory over St. Bernard in the ECC Large. The Lancers (6-2, 5-1) didn't lose a game in doubles action. Michaela Abate and Wendy Bessette won matches for St. Bernard (3-4, 2-4).

    Boys' tennis

    • East Lyme didn't drop a set in a 7-0 win over Fitch in the ECC Large. Eric Wu, Ashwin Menon, Matei Coiculescu and Sumeet Kadian posted singles wins for the Vikings (6-0, 6-0). Fitch dropped to 4-3, 2-3).

    • Camiren Carter, Mike Gianakos, James Zhu and Hugh Sokolski won singles matches to lift Waterford to a 7-0 sweep of St. Bernard in the ECC Large Division, the sixth straight victory for the Lancers. Dylan Vitale and Evan Burdsall got the win at No. 1 doubles.

    • Ledyard swept doubles play to beat Bacon Academy 4-3 in the ECC Small. The duos of Kevin Hutchinks and Ben Gardner, Trevor Hutchins and Chris Charette and Sam Lahti and Alec DeAndrade all won in straight sets for Ledyard (6-2, 5-1).
