    Supports legislators for job-saving effort

I am writing to reply to Mr. Philip Brose’s letter, “Mayor should refocus on needs of her city,” (May 11). I have worked at Mohegan Sun for many years. My work has allowed me to care for my family, with health care and strong benefits and take them on a trip to Walt Disney World this spring. I can attest to how Mohegan Sun treats their employees because I’ve experienced the rewards firsthand.

I live in Rhode Island, but I commute to Mohegan Sun every day because I’m proud of the career I’ve built there and proud of the work we do. Not only are they one of the largest employers in Connecticut; Forbes Magazine ranks them as one of the best. No one should be disparaging a company that brings such positive benefits to their employees and economic development to the community.

My own governor, Gov. Raimondo, recently signed a bill allowing the casino there to build a hotel. She said: "As our neighboring states look to draw revenue and economic development away from Rhode Island, we need to examine every possible way to remain competitive and create more economic opportunities.”

Connecticut legislators are doing exactly what they should be doing: protecting their constituents.
