Finizio Sanders' support short on specifics

I just read the commentary on the Daryl Justin Finizio Facebook site that includes an endorsement of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders. Could the mayor be overreaching, perhaps? His claim about “thinking nationally and globally, but acting locally” is a wonderful sentiment. But there is hard evidence that the mayor is neglecting the “locally” part. For example:

    • How, exactly is the mayor tackling global warming by starting locally? What initiatives has he taken?

    • He stresses environmental consciousness and action? How about starting with the basics, like a functioning Public Works Department?

    • The mayor says he “interacts” with the people who work for McDonalds and Walmart. Just how is “interacting” going to help the average New London resident who earns under $23,000 a year?

    • In what way, exactly, can the mayor of New London help students who are crippled by student loan debt? What's the plan?

    • And how, exactly, has the mayor changed law enforcement priorities? By cutting back the police department staffing?

At first read, all sounds good; very inspiring, kind of a “Today New London, Tomorrow the World” statement. But really, where's the meat?
